The Past Week
So Here in the past week a lot has happened.
1) This wonderful lady that Kenny and I met, Kathy, asked us if we would give a presentation to these kids that we between ageses 5-11. Kathy is teaching an after school program for lego robotics that use an NXT Brick to control the legos. (Basically they are building Lego Robots.) Kenny and I agreed to do the presentation so last saturday Kenny and I went into the shop to fix Kormak up a lil bit so we could drive him around. (A hour job at the most.) But we ended up stripping him down to the frame and then rebuilding him, 15 hours later he is completely programmed and functional. We give two presentations to the kids this past week and let them drive Kormak around. They all loved it.
2) Kenny and I decided to build an electric cart so that we can move Kormak around more easily. Started out with just a simple two moters on the back and then two casters on the front design, then it turned into a tank drive design that I wanted to do, then to a trailer design which would be pulled with an electric scooter that Kenny saw and wanted to do. And finally we are going with both of our designs so it will be able to be converted between both drive systems. And for this project. Hopefully we will have it done in three weeks time. This weeks then the week after next week we are hopeing that the design will be all the way finished and functional.
3) WORD ON OUR CAR!!!!!!! We finally are getting our car this next monday so that we can start programming it and modifying it so we can drive it with the iPhone. We are getting a Ford Fiesta. No not one of the new ones it's an older one. But I really want to take a Siesta in it. ;) It's a smaller car but we will still have a lot of fun with it!
4) In one of our clases we have a friend that has been working on our Tesla coil. So Thursday he finally got it working! We will post a video of it as soon as we can. Loads of fun!
So that's pretty much what has been happening on the Robotics Spectrum of things. Stay tuned and more will be to come!
